Dixie Chicks Release New Single "Gaslighter"

New album to follow on May 1st.

W YORK (March 4, 2020) — Today, the 13-time GRAMMY award-winning, multi-platinum selling global superstars, Dixie Chicks, release their first single “Gaslighter,” off of their highly-anticipated fifth studio album of the same name. Co-produced by GRAMMY award-winning singer-songwriter, record producer and friend of the band, Jack Antonoff, the new project marks nearly 14 years since their last studio album. GASLIGHTER is set for release on May 1, 2020 via Columbia Records and is available for pre-order here.

The first song off the album, “Gaslighter,” is a punchy, power-anthem that bears the super group’s signature unapologetic lyrics. A dynamic singalong ballad, the track is reminiscent of the Dixie Chicks’ chart-topping hits that beg to be played on repeat.

A nod to the female empowerment movement, the “Gaslighter” video, directed by Seanne Farmer, depicts the militant strength of women through the centuries and the unbreakable bond they create through any of life’s unforeseen circumstances.

Earning universal recognition as the biggest-selling U.S. female band of all time, the Dixie Chicks have sold more than 30.5 million albums and are among an elite group of acts to achieve multiple “diamond” selling (ten million copies) releases. Counting 13 GRAMMY Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, four American Music Awards, and numerous Country Music Association Awards among many other accolades, their last record-breaking studio album, TAKING THE LONG WAY (2006), won five GRAMMY Awards including “Album of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” and “Song of the Year.”

Most recently, the Dixie Chicks collaborated with Taylor Swift on “Soon You’ll Get Better,” a track from Swift’s seventh studio album, Lover. The collaboration resulted in the Dixie Chicks’ returning to the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, their first appearance on the chart in 12 years.
